Lorenzo Bartolini (1777-1850) was an Italian sculptor whose work — which combined neoclassicism with naturalistic details — played a central role in the development of sculpture across Europe during the 1800s. Filled with stunning full-colour and black & white illustrations, this volume explores Bartolini's work and how he probed the popular themes of sentiment, memory, and ethic and civil values throughout his career.
